I’ve known Julie for almost 40 years. After the head butt, she moved on to a stellar real estate career. I’ll always remember the fun we had on the dance floor back in the day. I treasure our friendship and look forward to at least another six months. Actually, I’m counting on many more years!

Happy 80th Birthday to the woman who refuses to act 80.

Eighty years old and still lifting weights at the gym and swimming a mile. Many people your age are bragging about getting out of a chair without making a sound, while you're over there adding plates to your deadlift. Miles recently said, “I’ve timed both you and grandma, and she gets off the floor faster “.

Thank you for always being there for me, Miles, Zelda, Oz, Yoshi, and all the dogs and other pets who've been lucky enough to find their way into our family over the years. You've always had room in your heart for every stray, rescue, misfit, and furry family member, and we're all better for it (Example: pulling hay out of Belle’s chin at the barn while I was at school).

I'll never forget our “trip” through China from the opera to eating enough on those tours to sustain a small nation. And then there was that building in Shanghai, whose interior seemed to be nothing but staircases and dead ends. Not only did we bring home souvenirs (Like “Gugci watches), we also brought home a distrust of Chinese door frames (well, at least I did).

Of course there are endless other memories I could share but this would become a dissertation :) We love you to the moon and back ! (Or as Zelda would say “More than llamas and cupcakes ).

Happy birthday, my dear sister. I love you so very much. I think you have been my very closest friend through the years and I am appreciative for that. When you were an infant, I cherished being able to watch you for mom. For instance, mom put you out in the baby swing in the front yard. The older boys in our neighborhood could see how serious I was taking my position so they began to tease you, which put me into a complete panic. Mom had to come to the rescue. Then there were the years when we lived on St Clair Ave when we shared a room first the sunroom and then the big closet room upstairs. One of my non-favorite memories was getting into a fight and pulling hair oh my!
Fast forward, having children of my own, helpeddevelop the Wee Wisdom Preschool. The first teacher we hired was a failure so we fired her and hired You! You were the best. I believe you had both Wayne and Dale for students. And I also think that that was just before you went off too serve with the Red Cross as a donut Dolly in Vietnam. I was in awe of you. Such a brave little sister!
Fast forward again, you were one of the most important parts of my support team through the days prior to Skio’s passing. I needed you and you were there for me. Love and hugs for that.
Not too long after that, you included me in the most wonderful series of vacation trips for my life as a widow. One of them was special in its own way. I believe it was near Bryce Canyon when we found the nicest place on a river at the end of a very long day of driving. I believe we are near Bryce Canyon. Are two trips to Africa were pretty special too. And then Alaska oh my. I had wanted to be in Alaska to visit you when you and Dave were stationed there so long ago, but I was raising kids and could not get away, so the Alaska trip meant so much to me. And to come home with the prize trophy of an 80 pound helmet was the bomb! love you, Julie!

Happy birthday!! I found a couple photos in my album that I have here. Not the best quality but good memories of our mother-daughter camping trips! I remember finding a “pregnant” tree, I remember dog/tent shenanigans, I remember Karen and I working on a Girl Scout badge by planning the whole trip. We were very proud. You were always up for an adventure and you always showed up smiling and laughing. I also have memories of coming to your room at broadmoor after school to hang out on the comfy couch and have a snack before heading to your house to play. It was a very welcoming space as was your home. Much later on, I remember going out for Karen’s 21st birthdays with our mom’s and two of us using fake IDs! We danced, toasted Karen, and had a great time! I hope your party has lots of laughter, dancing, toasting and good memories. I wish I could be there to celebrate with you. Decades ago, Julie and her four-legged companion, Joyce, helped our three little girls overcome their fear of dogs while at Broadmoor Elementary school. We will always be grateful to them. Love you Julie and happy birthday! The Nimer family

Seems those special moments many times are linked to family and friends.
